Aquion gains password management vendor

Security distributor, Aquion, landed a partnership with US-based password security vendor, Lieberman Software.

With a focus on governance, risk and compliance products, Aquion was looking for a password management offering for the enterprise market. This led to the company approaching Lieberman, which provides identity management software.

According to the distributor, the partnership is exclusive in Australia.

“We see a demand for password management as people move to virtualisation and cloud computing,” Aquion general manager of sales, Audrey Lyon, said. “Passwords and privileged passwords are multiplying and becoming less easy to manage.”

“At the end of the day with security, if somebody does get into your network you want to prevent them from taking control of systems so you need a very effective password management solution to give you that protection.”

Lyon said Lieberman’s products are considered as a specialist technology and there are currently five resellers in Aquion’s stable that are committed to the new range. The distributor has 40 resellers in total.

Aquion would not disclose the expected sales revenue to be generated from the new deal but said it would be “significant”.
