Swedish audio conferencing vendor, Konftel, has partnered up with ABTC Distribution to push harder into the Australian market.
Konftel previously had another distributor locally but the relationship only extended to a small range of conference phones.
With the ABTC partnership, the vendor is ramping up its efforts and is introducing a wider selection of phones aimed at a broad market.
“There isn’t a defined conferencing customer anymore,” Konftel UK and Ireland sales director, Jeff May, said. “Traditionally, you think of the big multinationals, the large corporations, the fine arts industry and the legal industry; all of which are very big users of conferencing.
“The reality is today that any business with a few people is actually a prime target.”
Konftel is touting a solution for everything from a desktop environment right through to big media auditoriums.
Another sellpoint the vendor is keen to push is the ability for some of the phones to record conversations directly onto a multimedia card.
The high-end device, Konftel 300, can connect to mobile phones, analogue phones or through a PC for VoIP calls.
“Our range is the challenger to what is already being offered in the marketplace,” May said. “We are looking to offer something different and we are really excited to be here with ABTC.”
Konftel views Polycom as its biggest competitor in the Australia market.
ABTC has about 500 resellers under its wing.
