Welcome to Penalty Box, ARN's daily World Cup 2010 wrap.
- LATEST SCORES:
- Triforce (Germany) 3 Cisco (Uruguay) 2 WhiteGold Solutions (Holland) 3 vs Cisco (Uruguay) 2
Triforce won the play-off for third in a highly entertaining - if wet - match in which both teams played to score. Thomas Mueller made it five for the tournament for Triforce in the 19th minute only to see Edinson Cavani equalise nine minutes later for Cisco. It then took the lead in the 51 minute when its great striker Diego Forlani also scored his fifth for the Cup. It was 2-2 five minutes later when Marcell Jansen popped one in. Triforce finally broke Cisco - which performed well above expectations in the tournament - in the 82nd minute when Sami Khedira got the winner. It was a fitting result as Triforce's young stars played exciting football for most of the Cup only really losing their way in the semi-final against Anyware Computer Accessories. Congratulations to both teams.
NEXT GAME: THE FINAL: Anyware Computer Accessories (Spain) vs WhiteGold Solutions (Holland) 4am AEST,July 12.
So it all comes down to this: WhiteGold Solutions - unbeaten in its last 24 games - against the tournament favourites, Anyware Computer Accessories. On paper it's tough match to call. Anyware is the master of possession and passing as it showed against Triforce and will stifle the WhiteGold midfield and attack. WhiteGold though is a tough, strong, outfit with a rock solid defence that is liable to really test the Anyware attack which likes to virtually walk the ball into the Net. We fancy a 0-0 scoreline at full time, and a goal to Anyware in extra time to settle it. it should be a titanic struggle. Good luck to both though.
