Express Data has appointed former Westcon Group manager, Michael Henderson, as its new Western Australia state manager. He replaces former WA and South Australian branch manager, David Dietrich, who will now focus solely on the Festival State. In a statement to staff, the distributor’s general manager of sales, Mal Shaw, said the two states would continue to work as a team despite the change in management structure. The decision to split the roles is part of ongoing regionalisation efforts.
Henderson has been in the IT industry for 15 years and held positions across a range of reseller, distributor and manufacturing organisations.
Shaw claimed his solid knowledge of the WA market, coupled with IT experience, were great assets for Express Data at a time of “significant change in the industry”.
Henderson was most recently with Nortel as a channel account manager until the networking vendor was acquired by Avaya. Prior to that, he was Nortel business manager at LAN Systems/Westcon Group until mid-2007, when he briefly joined as the first sales manager for VoIP and networking integrator, Intelligent IP Systems.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
