South Australia-based ISP, Internode, has been crowned Australia’s favourite home broadband provider by Internet comparison website, Broadband Expert.
The website asked visitors to run a speed test online to rate their broadband provider between November 1, 2009, and April 30, 2010.
Broadband Expert gathered 6697 customer responses for 11 ISPs.
Out of the 193 responses Internode received, the company’s customer rating averaged 84 per cent.
Dodo scored the lowest with 265 responses and a 58 per cent average customer rating.
Broadband Expert commercial director, Rob Webber, pointed out the disparity between the top and bottom performer and urged consumers to look beyond price, data allowance and theoretical download speeds when settling for an ISP.
“You can have what appears to be the best value plan in the world but if you are let down by poor service, it soon becomes a false economy,” he said. “We hope by revealing how customers rate their own ISPs, we can help make the process of choosing a broadband plan easier and more informed.”
Broadband Expert receives a commission from ISPs that feature on the website.
ISPs with less than 100 responses were excluded from the list.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.

Dodo scored lowest with 265 responses?
ISP's with less than 100 responses were excluded from the list?
So Dodo didn't score lowest?
How many ISP's with scores less than 100 were removed?

I smell a con. for starters it can depend on how close or far the local echange you are re the speed
To sample the local market should only be a concern for the local market. I live south of Sydney so the resuls are of no concern to me. To advetise "Internode voted best broadband provider" is so not true you should be charged with fraud! Fair dinkum give us readers some respect for having a brain.
