Sybase has appointed Michael Bosnar as its new regional sales director.
He replaces veteran, Robert Spinks, who left the software vendor after 11 years to join a consultancy firm.
Bosnar previously worked at MailGuard and CA.. He will concentrate on building the install base of the vendor’s database, business intelligence and mobility product ranges in Australia and New Zealand.
Sybase managing director, Dereck Daymond, said the vendor had moved the position from Sydney, where Spinks operated from, to Bosnar’s hometown of Melbourne.
“We were looking for a sales manager in Melbourne to give us a greater presence there, and to better service the New Zealand market,” Daymond said.
Sybase was continuing to see good growth this fiscal year, he said.
The vendor experienced a record 2008, which it repeated in 2009. Earlier this year it overhauled its channel engagement in a bid to continue the growth trajectory.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
