Ex-Linksys boss joins Multimedia Technology

Ex-Linksys Australia boss, Graeme Reardon, has been appointed the new NSW state manager for distributor, Multimedia Technology.
He replaces Gordon Taylor, who finished up on April 15 after six years in the role. In an email to colleagues, Taylor said he would travel overseas before returning to Australia to pursue new opportunities.
Reardon most recently spent four-and-a-half years as Linksys Australia managing director, originally run as a consumer and SMB subsidiary of Cisco before being more broadly integrated into the networking giant. His resume includes stints with D-Link as well as in reseller land.
Reardon left Cisco in July last year. He told ARN he’d spent the last six months share trading and building up his property portfolio, but was looking forward to getting back into the IT game. He was approached by Multimedia Technology general manager, John Hassall, a couple of months ago about the opportunity to head up the Sydney branch. Multimedia is a Cisco/Linksys distributor.
“I’ve spent eight or nine years with vendors, and been with resellers, but I have no experience in working for a distributor so it’s a good opportunity for me,” Reardon said. “My aim is to take this business to the next level. Gordon has done a great job building us from virtually zero dollars in Sydney, to a profitable business.
“My first task is to deep dive into the current business and understand our relationships, and get my head around a set of different vendors, rather than one vendor with a few products.”
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
