Konica Minolta has launched its Platinum Partner Program for the channel.
The new program offers dealers financial incentives and assistance to help grow their business. High achievers selling laser printers can obtain additional sales and marketing support.
IT channel sales manager, David Vogt, said launching the program was part of the vendor’s strategy to expand its presence in the IT channel and reward partners. There are four levels involved: Pioneer, Pioneer Plus, Premium and Prestige. The levels are target driven.
“We’ve been overdue to launch a new program,” Vogt said. “We wanted to assure our partners had the necessary tools and assistance to actively promote Konica Minolta products. For the resellers that have invested in our brand, we would like to give some reward.”
Benefits include rebates on hardware sales up to 9 per cent when targets are achieved, access to online resource centre, MyKonicaMinolta, up to 50 per cent discount on demonstration printers, access to the Konica Minolta Sydney showroom to experience the latest technology and a percentage of sales reinvested in a marketing development fund.
Other benefits include marketing collateral and tools, sales and product training, access to Cartridges 4 Planet Ark collection bins, a dedicated channel partner manager, lead generation assistance, dealer locator listings on konicaminolta.com.au and invitations to corporate events.
Konica has about 50 core resellers.
Vogt said he would like to get that figure up to 150 nationally.
“We’re after tier one and two resellers that look after the SME, corporate and government space,” he said. “We would like to push up to the enterprise market.”
Current distributors include Ingram Micro, Alloys and Leader Systems.
In conjunction with launching the new program, the vendor has also hired Shane Bedford as its new channel sales manager.
Based in Brisbane, Bedford will be responsible for the Qld, WA and SA markets. He previously spent nine years with Ingram Micro/Tech Pacific.
For the first quarter from April 1 - June 30, the vendor is running a double your dollar promotion for partners to receive double revenue towards their rebate targets.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
