HP’s digital signage business has had a local boost after Object Consulting signed on as a digital display applications developer.
Specifically, Object will be developing tools to use on HP’s new multi-touch LD4200 42-inch widescreen interactive digital signage display. In its first joint project, it has developed a product launch application, which can be tailored for use in government, media, banking and retail. It makes use of the company’s multi-touch product, Object Compare.
The OEM partnership is also readying a multi-touch, self-service sign-in application. The solution, which has been designed to simplify an organisation’s front desk operation, will be available shortly.
In a release, Microsoft practice manager at Object Consulting, Kevin Francis, said multi-touch offered an opportunity to engage customers through interactive and relevant apps, while delivering back-end office integration.
“[This] helps enterprises deliver precise, targeted customer service at the moment customers look for it,” he stated.
Object Consulting works across a range of multi-touch devices including Microsoft’s Surface unit through to multi-touch screens, tables, and multi-touch phones such as Windows 7 phone series.
