Ingram Micro has appointed Jenny Southon as its general manager of Data Capture/Point of Sale (DC/POS) business unit.
She replaces Matt Maley, who will be departing to pursue personal interests, Ingram marketing director, Grant Cleary, said.
Maley was the former CEO of POS distributor, Vantex, which Ingram acquired in April last year.
Cleary said Maley helped see through the acquisition and merger of the two distributors.
Southon starts her new position on April 6 and has been with Ingram for about 12 years as its business development manager covering its Toshiba, IBM and HP product lines.
Southon will firstly focus on getting to know the 40-strong staff, vendors and their plans for 2010 in the DC/POS space.
"I will be getting an understanding of the market and what we can achieve," she said. "We'll be working with resellers on any potential growth areas and markets."
The unit maintains about 23 vendors including Motorola, IBM and HP.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
