NetSuite joins Google cloud

NetSuite will make its cloud computing enterprise resource planning (ERP) suite available on Google Apps Marketplace — the online storefront for Google Apps products and services.

The suite includes a range installable apps that integrate directly with Google Apps, including production, accounting, distribution, supply and human resource functions.

They use a single sign-on and Google's universal navigation, which Google hopes will help IT managers easily integrate them into their enterprise.

Chief executive officer of NetSuite, Zach Nelson, said the Google Apps integration was the company’s next logical step in taking cloud computing to businesses.

“We plan to make it extremely easy for Google Apps customers to get a powerful cloud computing ERP application that works seamlessly with their technology platforms,” he said in a statement.

Businesses can use the platform to access financial data, operational performance and documentation from any browser, allowing teams to collaborate from different locations. And IT managers can use account information already stored on Google Apps to help simplify user experience.

“Through the Google Apps Marketplace, software vendors like NetSuite are helping us build a rich ecosystem of integrated business apps that work seamlessly with Google Apps,” Google Apps partner lead for Google Enterprise, Scott McMullan, said.

The marketplace launched recently with 50 applications from third-party vendors.
