Markinson acquires CRM dealer

Business software provider, Markinson, has acquired the CRM division of sales training business, Acuere, for an undisclosed sum.
This is the second CRM business Markinson has acquired this financial year. In November, the company purchased Adexio. Markinson CEO, Ian Whiting, said it purchased Acuere’s capabilities to help strengthen its Sage SalesLogix and Microsoft CRM practices.
“We’ve been looking to really grow the business substantially,” Whiting told ARN. The deal will further expand the company’s reach in the Australian market with the addition of an Adelaide office. Markinson has offices in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne as well as a presence in New Zealand.
“It adds critical mass to our CRM capability and builds upon our recent acquisition of Adexio,” Whiting said. “Our goal is to operate as one of the top providers of CRM solutions within Australia and New Zealand. Acquisitions, such as these, will play a pivotal role in our growth strategy as we look to aggressively increase scale and deepen our solutions suite.”
Acuere’s five staff will be brought across to Markinson and co-founder of Acuere, Greg Simmons, will also take up a management position. The remainder of Acuere’s business will continue to trade under the same name.
“They are investing heavily in putting in place people, solutions and infrastructure to support ambitious growth targets and I look forward to building upon their position in the CRM space,” Simmons said.
Whiting recently told ARN about the company’s plans for further acquisitions by the end of this financial year and aims to purchase at least two more companies.
