The Digistor group has added its second new business unit this year by acquiring Digital by Design.
Digital by Design is a 3D animation specialist reseller based in the Gold Coast, and an Autodesk partner. The acquisition follows on the back of Digistor’s Dynamic Visual Systems business unit, which was formed in January to tackle the digital signage market.
Currently three staff strong, Digital by Design will retain its branding and function as a separate entity with its own ABN. It will however, have access to Digistor’s back-end administration and marketing resources, allowing it to better attack new business opportunities.
The reseller will also be looking to expand its presence beyond the Gold Coast and Digistor will be appointing a Sydney-based BDM to facilitate the expansion.
Digistor marketing manager, Mark Richards, said it was necessary to look for new opportunities to continue to build the group’s presence.
“Digital by Design is a successful and profitable business, and for us to continue the current growth path we needed to look to acquisitions,” he said.
Digital by Design manager, Kalenn Amand, said the acquisition was a great development for the reseller, allowing it to attract a greater market presence.
“The additional resources we’ll have access to will allow us to supply products to some of the biggest names in the animation field,” Amand said. “Digistor was previously film, TV and broadcast based, so it’s a complementary fit for the companies.”
