3Com has announced four new products and solutions from its TippingPoint and H3C portfolios to extend the Secure Network Fabric to datacenters and virtual networks, according to a statement. The Secure Network Fabric integrates 3Com's TippingPoint intrusion prevention system (IPS) technology and H3C enterprise network and security solutions to reduce network security risks, management complexity and infrastructure costs in modern datacenters, it added.
"As organizations make the shift to a virtual datacenter environment, they need to ensure that the security component is paramount to the deployment," said Richard Steinnon, Principal Analyst at IT-Harvest. "The extensive range of solutions across 3Com's portfolio provides the protection, performance and cost savings organizations need to meet and exceed their virtual network security requirements."
To support and broaden the Secure Network Fabric in the virtualized datacenter, 3Com introduced four new solutions for large enterprises, including the TippingPoint Secure Virtualization Framework Solution, TippingPoint 1500S, TippingPoint ThreatLinQ 2.0 and H3C S9500E, the company stated.
"Although the deployment of virtual networks provides organizations with the ability to design an efficient datacenter that is easier to manage and more cost effective, the business benefits could be negated by increased security exposure and the new complexities of today's evolving threat landscape," said Ron Sege, President and COO of 3Com. "Our new virtual networking and security solutions address this exposure and help customers drive towards uncompromised security, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance," he added.
