ACS settles out of court with disgruntled Denham

The Australian Computer Society (ACS) has agreed to an out-of-court settlement with former CEO, Kim Denham.
In late May 2009, the company and Denham split acrimoniously, leading to Bruce Lakin being selected as her replacement. Denham then took the IT industry body to court, alleging misleading or deceptive conduct. Neither party commented on the issue while the case was underway.
In a joint statement released to the public, a spokesperson for the ACS said the terms of the settlement would remain confidential and that no further comment would be made by either party.
“The matters in dispute between them have been settled to the satisfaction of both parties,” the spokesperson said.
The settlement closes an ugly chapter of the lobby group’s history. Denham’s departure from the organisation was done with no warning or explanation. By contrast, the ACS’s transition of president from Kumar Parakala to Anthony Wong was done according to schedule and with no controversy.
