Tandberg signs first Australian training partner

Dimension Data’s IT training company, DDLS, is also a Cisco partner

Video-conferencing stalwart, Tandberg, has appointed Dimension Data Learning Solutions (DDLS) as its first training partner in Australia.

DDLS is a part of systems integrator, Dimension Data, and specialises in technical IT training.

The company is gearing up to implement specific customised training for Tandberg end-users and channel partners. There is currently three dedicated Tandberg trainers and formal certification training will be hosted at DDLS’ Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne and Perth training facilities.

DDLS is already working with Cisco and with the network vendor’s recent acquisition of Tandberg, the new partnership was a good fit, DDLS managing director, David Gage, said.

“We will take on existing courses across Tandberg’s suite of products and we will work with the vendor to deliver new content moving forward as they integrate with Cisco,” he said. “We have a huge focus in the broader area of unified communications (UC) and this will benefit our practice.

“With Cisco and Tandberg in the mix, it will really help to ensure we have comprehensive and broad offerings.”

Gage highlighted both vendors have gradually improved their video-conferencing products which will ultimately lead to further advancements in the technology.

“It has really gained credibility and major corporate customers are looking to and have taken on the technology,” he said.

Tandberg channel director, Adam Britten, said in a statement he is confident the training group’s experienced engineers and trainers will aid customers and channel partners through the learning process.

DDLS has over 150 staff and is also a certified training partner for Microsoft.
