IT services provider, ASG Group (ASX:ASG), has locked in a $35 million contract with Perth-based electricity company, Western Power Corporation.
The contract is to provide datacentre facilities, mid-range infrastructure, network and VoIP managed infrastructure services over five years, with two extension options of one-year.
According to ASG chief officer of sales and strategic operations, Murray Rosa, the win was a significant achievement that boosted the company’s position. It also coincided with the construction of a new datacentre facility.
“This contract win highlights ASG’s expertise and capability in providing infrastructure managed services to large scale organisations,” Rosa said in a statement. “[The data centre] is an exciting development for ASG and for the industry and we believe it will be a key driver of ASG’s revenue growth.”
The Western Power win is just the latest in a string of high-profile successes the company has enjoyed. In late January, it signed a $23m deal with the WA department of education to provide Oracle applications management, server operations and database administration.
In August, 2009, it recorded a year on year profit increase of 24.8 per cent to $11.3m while in mid June it won a deal worth $13m with Qantas.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
