Tandberg Data appoints channel sales manager

Tandberg Data has appointed former Westcon Group manager, Paul O’Connell, to head up Australian channel sales. He was previously Nortel business development manager at Westcon and Anixter, and has five years’ experience in the channel.
In a statement, O’Connell said his priority with the storage vendor was to work with key distributors and resellers, and where applicable end-users, to help drive the business in A/NZ. He also highlighted the vendor’s strengths in the SMB market as key part of his strategy. O'Connell replaces former country manager,Georg Schlueter.
“While the storage market has evolved greatly in the past 5-10 years, and the range and diversity of storage solutions have increased, tape still has a vital role to play in best practice storage solutions,” O’Connell said in a statement. “Tandberg Data has an excellent solution set targeted at these areas, ranging from entry level to small to medium enterprises.”
This week, Tandberg Data also announced its new global channel strategy in a bid to offer more a more targeted, solutions focus to customers.
