Brennan has notched up a multi-million dollar business outsourcing contract with Rendezvous Hospitality Group (RHG).
A new customer for the outsourcer, Brennan will replace the group’s legacy networking, data hosting systems and services with an outsourced solution.
The three-year, multi-million dollar contract includes installing a private IP WAN for 15 hotels, migrating 17 disparate domains to a centralised management environment and host, and managing all servers under a fully managed Infrastructure-as-a-Service offering. The managed services provider will also include managed onsite support, hardware and software procurement and voice and data connectivity.
Brennan head of marketing and product management, Nick McMenemy, said the win was not the rapidly growing company’s largest contract, but it was significant as it added another customer to its core hospitality customer portfolio.
The hospitality industry would provide cloud services organisations with a number of opportunities throughout 2010, McMenemy claimed. He hoped Brennan could expand on the relationship with RHG, as well as its other hospitality customers.
“I am somewhat surprised that hospitality has embraced cloud computing so quickly – they’re quite keen to make the big jump from hardware to cloud models,” McMenemy said. “With that comes the inevitable need to refresh systems, but it seems many hospitality groups are looking to strip out the technological costs in favour of outsourcing.”
McMenemy was unable to comment on specific technologies being used in the RHG rollout, but said technology solutions included recognisable brand name vendors in preference to niche products.
