Simms International has expanded to New Zealand, opening an office in Auckland that will be operational mid-February.
The office will be run by managing director, Paul Johnston, who is a shareholder and board member of the Simms business in New Zealand.
Johnson’s initial priorities will be to establish the office, start discussions with vendors and build the partner network. He will also recruit staff for business development, sales, customer service and sales support roles.
It is the third Simms business globally, following on from the Australian and original UK operations, the latter of which began in 1990.
“Each Simms business has to succeed on its own and there is no-one in New Zealand more experienced and qualified to do this than Paul. We anticipate that some of our vendors here in Australia will be interested in having Simms looking after them in New Zealand, and vice versa.” Simms International Australia managing director, Danny Moore said in a release.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
