Ex-David Jones staffer, Neale Joseph, has been named Motorola’s new channel partner sales general manager.
Joseph worked for the retail giant as its cosmetics and beauty general manager for seven years before moving on to Motorola. He replaces Moira Quigley, who has been promoted to an Asia-Pacific position.
In his new role, Joseph’s channel strategy will focus on growth and building on the vendor’s existing channel partners.
“Motorola has been in Australia for more than 40 years and has a well established group of dealers, good brand position and products,” he said. “It’s really about taking those forward into 2010 and beyond.”
With the economy recovering from the effects of the global financial crisis, Joseph said his main challenge will be to invest in capturing opportunities for channel partners for the coming year.
“Business confidence is slowly returning so hopefully businesses will start investing back into radio communications and I think that is a challenge for the industry. We are looking forward to tackling that,” he said.
For the past 25 years, Joseph has worked mainly in the retail sector but had experience in channel type structures in the building material industry, he said.
