WatchGuard Technologies has launched an enhanced managed security services program (MSSP) for its Fireware XTM0-based multifunction security appliances.
Program initiatives include new remote management security features allowing WatchGuard partners to proactively manage, monitor and mitigate security risks for customers regardless of their location.
MSSP partners will also be able to provide any combination of advanced firewall, intrusion prevention, secure virtual private networking for remote workers, Web blocking and URL filtering services, spam protection and antivirus.
Watchguard regional director, Scott Robertson, claimed the solution was what the vendor’s channel had been asking for, and capped off a busy year that saw revenue growth of just under 70 per cent across indirect business.
The vendor acquired BorderWare earlier in the year, and also went through three major product releases, Robertson said. The start of 2010 would see the vendor attempt to get the channel on-board with new solutions that can now be taken to market.
“We have a loyal partner base, but we’ll also be looking for partners that understand the BorderWare side of the business,” Robertson said. “In Q1 of next year, we’ll be offering free training and certification to interested partners around the old BorderWare platform.”
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
