Hitachi has tapped into the external storage market in Australia with the release of new line of portable USB drives.
In the heavy-duty corner, Hitachi SimpleTOUGH is water and shock resistant. It integrates the vendor’s Travelstar hard drives, which provides solid shock protection, and TrueTrack Technology for added data protection against rough handling. The product comes with 320GB or 500GB storage capacity.
The SimpleDRIVE Mini is a diminutive portable drive designed to be light and stylish. It comes in two colours: Blue dusk with the 320GB version; and Carbon fibre with 500GB capacity.
SimpleTOUCH is priced from $139 while SimpleDRIVE Mini Blue dusk and Carbon fibre retails at $119 and $169 respectively. All products support USB 2.0 for high-speed data transfer and come with pre-loaded backup software.
