Emerson Network Power’s effort to ramp up SMB engagement through the channel has lead to the creation of is new solution suite.
OptimizeIT includes new UPS power protection, cooling, monitoring and enclosures and is designed to work together to lower costs and improve uptime.
For Emerson’s channel, it will provide a clearer product set to take to market, according to director of marketing, Peter Spiteri.
SMB business accounts for only a small portion of Emerson’s overall business, but it has been earmarked as a significant growth opportunity for the vendor.
“Emerson has not necessarily been linked to the SMB market, but we have solutions for that space,” he said. “OptimizeIT doesn’t change anything about the existing partner program, but it helps them, in that previously we had left it to the partner to put together the solution’s components.”
The vendor has set itself the goal of over doubling its SMB partner base of 12 to around 30, and will look to find other ways to leverage its partner business.
“We have the mature part of the business wrapped up now, so growing the SMB part of the business will be a significant focus for us, and we’re making investments in this area in light of that,” Spiteri said.
