IP communications vendor picks Alloy

Alloy will distribute entire Zultys range

US-based communications vendor, Zultys, has added Alloy to its list of Australian distributors.

Alloy has been a manufacturer and distributor of networking and communications products since 1985 and has been active in IP products for the past decade. The partnership was a result of discussions which took place earlier in the year, marketing director, Karl Baker, said.

Alloy will now distribute Zultys’ full range including SIP-based IP PBX phone systems, IP gateways and its MXIE unified communications (UC) software. Although the company does distribute similar offerings from other partners such as US vendors, Epygi and pbxnsip, Baker said Zultys would not cannibalise its existing vendor products.

“The Zultys product range is really aimed at a slightly different market segment than either of the product suites we currently represent,” he said. “The vendor is particularly strong in the mid to large enterprise markets that want to have their own in-house system.

“pbxnsip is a soft switch specialist and Epygi is aimed at high-end SMBs, so Zultys sits in nicely.”

With IP communications steadily gathering momentum, Baker said Alloy will continue to facilitate traditional analogue communication resellers’ transition to digital technology with the Zultys range.

“We go to market primarily through the reseller channel so we will be working closely with IT resellers and traditional time-division multiplex (TDM) telecommunication resellers that are moving into the new era of IP communications,” he said. “That is what we have been doing for some years with other products we have brought into the market and we will continue with that model.”

Pre-Christmas marketing campaigns are in the works and Alloy will be responsible for Zultys’ authorised reseller program. The distributor will also run a VoIP roadshow across major capital cities early next year to showcase Zultys’ IP offerings.
