Cyberoam has appointed its second local distributor to expand its reach.
The Indian-based UTM appliance vendor took its first steps into the market with distributor, MPA Systems, in July 2008. Its desire to expand its presence in the west of Australia and reach new resellers has now seen it bring on Techplus, Cyberoam country manager, Alkesh Soneji, said. He claimed the appointment came off the back of a strong year of growth.
“Tech Plus has existing experience with UTM products, which makes it a good fit for our business,” Soneji said. “The two distributors have channels that are not typically competing with one another, so we expect minimal crossover.”
Organisations looking to consolidate IT spending down into one simple-to-manage unit is creating a growing market for UTM appliances, Soneji claimed, meaning there is room in the market for a second distributor.
Techplus managing director, Paul Kern, said the Cyberoam product line fit well with the distributor’s SME focus.
“We’ve been looking for a fully featured UTM product for a while, and had found it difficult to find one,” Kern said. “When we came across Cyberoam, its price competitiveness added to its appeal for our customer base.”
