Telstra’s group managing director, David Moffatt, will leave the telco at the end of November after nearly 10 years.

Moffatt has held his current position since 2003. Prior to that, he was CFO and group managing director, finance and administration. Glenice Maclellan will act in the role and Moffatt will use his remaining time to assist with a smooth transition.

In a release, Telstra CEO, David Thodey, highlighted a number of significant contributions Moffatt made to Telstra.

“Moffatt has played a leadership role at Telstra during a time that has seen a fundamental shift in the way our customers are using telecommunications services, including massive take up of mobile services, broadband, wireless broadband and Foxtel,” Thodey stated.

“Moffatt has driven significant growth and change in our consumer retail business with the introduction of the Next G network and the new T[life] retail environment."

Maclellan has been at Telstra since 2006, most recently as executive director of category marketing and operations in Telstra Consumer. Peter Jamieson will temporarily fill the position of acting executive director of category marketing and operations, in addition to his normal responsibilities as executive director business performance.
