Manaccom (ASX:MNL) founder and managing director, Ian Mackay, has retired.
The Queensland-based software distributor became an autonomous division of Jumbo Corporation after being acquired in 2007. The parent company now trades on the Australian Stock Exchange under MNL Group.
Manaccom CEO and executive director, Mike Veverka, said Mackay planned his retirement since the acquisition and completed the preparation work to ensure a smooth departure.
“He has been putting in place a management team that can take over and had been spending less and less time at the office so the team could handle things,” he said.
Veverka has taken on Mackay’s day-to-day responsibilities as Manaccom considers whether to fill the vacant role. Despite losing an industry veteran, Veverka did not see Mackay’s departure having any negative impact on the software distributor.
“It will be business as usual and we don’t expect it will make any changes up or down,” he said. “It is just a process we have been going through.
“We have a good agreement with McAfee for three years and we have good relationships with retailers so nothing is changing as far as the business is concerned.”
Manaccom recently posted positive financial results and is confident the company will achieve even better numbers in the next 12 months.
