ComputerCorp rebrands to Synergy Plus Operations

New name to reflect its national approach and wider customer and services portfolio

ASX-listed ComputerCorp has changed its name to Synergy Plus Operations, effective today.

According to an ASX statement, the new masthead reflects a national approach and is better known and accessible to a wider range of customer organisations. ComputerCorp acquired Synergy Plus back in March for $9.3 million.

Acting CEO, Peter Cappendell, said its focus was to provide best-of-breed products, technology solutions and professional services to its client base across Australia. Over 60 per cent of the company’s business is derived outside of its home base in Perth today. The combined entity has 270 staff across 11 locations.

In an interview with ARN last week, Cappendell said it would recruit more staff to drive the outsourcing and enterprise offerings brought into the fold by the original Synergy Plus acquisition. The combined group provides a range of services include desktop management, mid-range systems, virtualisation, unified communications and datacentre solutions. Vendors include VMware, HP, IBM, Cisco, Symantec, APC and Microsoft.

According to the ASX statement, Synergy Plus Operations specifically targets mining and resources, education, finance, manufacturing, defence, utilities and government markets.

The rebranding follows the appointment of Joe Arcuri as national sales director last week, as well as plans to bring on a national services director.

Shareholder approval will be sought for the rebranding on November 26.

Will this change anything?

Will a rebranding still help a failing businesses? They've tried to acquire two companies that have subsequently gone under (Leading & S Central).

So does a new name really matter? They'll still be the same, maybe if they changed their way of business or their management, they might have a chance...

And seriously what sort of name is Synergy Plus - a bit outdated...

Synergy plus or computercorp. Senior Management need to change the way they do business. Lets hope that all the people they have screwed over comes back to them 10 fold. They may be good at screwing people over and make money but I doubt senior managment have what really counts in life true friends and a loving family. Senior management are sharks that have no respect. Senior Managment should take time to look back at all the people and companies they have screwed over. From a friend of those that have been affected by the sharks at Computer Corp.
