Express Data has appointed five new business development managers as it seeks greater levels of engagement with key vendors.
The BDMs have been appointed to drive business for RSA Security, Adobe, Sun Microsystems and IronPort. Some of the employees are funded by the vendor, others by Express Data or as part of a dual-funding arrangement. The distributor now has a total of 20 in-house.
“These vendors want to support us, and at the same time we want to show support for our key vendor partners,” Express Data national BDM manager, Angela Logan-Bell, said.
“We see BDMs as a strong formula for vendors to get leads into the market, and are an opportunity to deliver a direct return on investment for those vendors that don’t have enough breadth to cover all its unmanaged partners.”
Express Data is also planning to add another two staff across Cisco and Novell before Christmas, Logan-Bell said, and was keen to look for another 2-4 people after January for the distributor’s more recent vendor signings.
Express Data recently won the Hewitt Employer of the Year award for the third consecutive year. It also picked up Software Distributor of the Year at the ARN awards, with Niall Connell also achieving a Customer Service personal award.

That should bring some new perspectives on running businesses. The first time I heard about Express Data my Trianz consultant mentioned to me as a very promising feature.
