CSG moves into the recruitment business

NT-based integrator says the move will give its Professional Services Division and east coast expansion a boost

ASX-listed integrator, CSG (ASX: CSV), said its decision to enter the recruitment business will help drive growth across its Professional Services Division.

The new division, CSG People, will be headed up by former Talent International general manager, Murray Withington, and manned by 100 staff. It initially kicks off in Melbourne, but the company plans to expand into other states in the longer term and double its headcount in two years.

The focus is on providing contract and permanent IT professionals to its customer base.

CSG group general manager of enterprise services, Julie-Ann Kerin, said roles it hoped to fulfill included development, testing, business analysis, support, project supervision and program management.

The company has already experienced some success in the utilities, banking and finance industries but plans to branch out into other vertical markets.

Recruitment was a natural progression for CSG and a strategic move that allowed the company to provide more holistic services to customers, Kerin said. It also offers up a stepping stone for the NT-based integrator’s east coast expansion.

CSG recently announced its full-year results to June 30, chalking up a 24 per cent rise in profits off revenue of $197.3 million. The company attributed the significant growth to its acquisition of Commander’s managed services assets last year.

What's Is Going On?

Is this the same CSG that's been trumpeting it's success the past few months? The WA office has been decimated of late with numerous sackings so is the success all "spin"...maybe.
