Toshiba veteran, Mark Whittard, has been promoted to managing director of the vendor’s Australian operations. He replaces Hiroshi Kurihara, who will return to Japan in mid November to take up the general manager of PC overseas sales operations position.
There is no immediate replacement for Whittard’s position. Until a replacement can be found, Whittard will also continue to act as general manager of the vendor’s Information Systems Division (ISD).
Whittard first joined the vendor in 1998 and has headed up ISD since 2004. Prior to Toshiba, he was marketing manager at the now-defunct Digital.
The news comes as Whittard’s former Toshiba colleague, Phil Cameron, announced his exit from Lenovo. He is being replaced as managing director by former chief, Alan Munro.
