Audion cuts noise with Blackbox

Consumer electronics distributor, Audion Innovision, has been appointed the first local supplier of New Zealand brand, Blackbox by Phitek.
The active noise cancellation brand covers both headphones and earphones. Audion product manager, Andrew McGregor, said the products filled a gap in the distributor’s portfolio around premium noise cancellation offerings.
“We also see a gap in the market in terms of price,” he said. “Although it’s a premium product, Blackbox retails at a price point lower than similar technology brands.”
The best opportunities will be in Mac channels and duty free outlets, McGregor claimed, as travellers looked for a solution to aircraft noise.
“Consumers are starting to spend again, so it’s a good time for us leading up to Christmas,” he said. “We’re continually looking for new opportunities leading up to the Christmas period, though we’re not looking to bring on a competitor to Blackbox.”
In a statement, Phitek CEO, Mark Lunt, said the vendor was pleased with the opportunities Audion brought it in the market.
“Audion has great people and an excellent network to help us launch the products in Australia,” Lunt said.
