Telstra (ASX: TLS) has teamed up with Alcatel-Lucent to take the vendor’s converged communications portfolio to its enterprise and government customers.
As part of the deal the telco has received premium Enterprise business partner status and will have access to: The OmniPCX IP Telephony platform; the OmniTouch My Instant Communicator for Unified Communications; the OmniTouch Contact Centre and applications.
In a statement, Alcatel-Lucent vice-president of sales, Martin Claridge, said the vendor was broadening its long-term relationship with the telco in the carrier networking and IP transformation spaces.
In August, Telstra recorded a significant jump in revenue thanks to its mobile services, broadband and IP solutions, but continued to lose market share in the wireless broadband sector.
Meanwhile, Alcatel-Lucent recently brought on Distribution Central to distribute its range of voice and data products.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
