Hitachi Data Systems announced the availability of its Network Attached Storage (NAS) platform, with two new solutions for midrange storage.
Hitachi NAS 3080 and 3090 offer Intelligent File Tiering capability in midrange and include benefits to increase productivity and simplify storage, the company claimed.
"Hitachi combines storage management software, content archiving and data discovery solutions in one integrated platform to minimize complexity and reduce storage CAPEX and OPEX," said Miki Sandorfi, Chief Strategist for File and Content Services, Hitachi.
According to the company, the Hitachi NAS Platform offers up to two petabytes of capacity and 100K IOPS per node, which enables consolidation for midrange companies.
It also offers Intelligent Tiering capability, which is integrated with the Hitachi Data Discovery Suite to move data automatically among Fibre channel, SAS, SATA and archive tiers based on pre-set policies, the company added.
The Hitachi NAS Platform is optimized with Hitachi storage systems and the Hitachi Storage Command Suite, offering customers a single console for management of unified NAS and SAN environments.
Additionally, it is integrated with commercial application environments such as Microsoft Exchange, SQL Server, SharePoint and Oracle while used in VMware vSphere environments, the company claimed.
The Hitachi NAS Platform is designed for data-driven organizations and is suited for healthcare applications, according to the company.
The platform is available through Hitachi direct sales and channel partners.
