Internode expands 100Mbps fibre-to-the-home broadband network

Internode’s 100Mbps fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network now spans three states after its initial launch in South Australia seven months ago.

Priced under $100, Internode’s Home Fibre broadband is also available at 50Mbps and 25Mbps, from $49.95 per month.

The Internet service provider (ISP) teamed up with telecommunications provider, Opticomm, to provide fibre broadband to the Fernbrook real estate development in Queensland in February. Following Opticomm’s work in other areas, Internode has since moved on to Lochiel Park in South Australia, Alamanda and University Hill, which are both in Victoria. The ISP has set its sights on Parkbridge estate in NSW as well as Lightsview in South Australia in the near future.

Internode manager, John Lindsay, said in a statement that residents in the affected housing developments generally receive an initial service as part of their house and land package. He also said Home Fibre’s subscriber count is growing at more than 10 per cent each month.
