Israeli IP communications vendor, AudioCodes, has kicked off operations in Australia and is looking for partners.
The company’s products have been in the local market since 2002, but this is its first direct representation locally.
AudioCodes national director of sales, Chris Papaioanou, said it was spurred on by the current unified communications (UC) boon and national telcos clients that were eager to provide technologies such as SIP trunking and direct VoIP connections to customers.
Papaioanou mans the business alone but hopesto grow headcount as the vendor’s presence increases. He expected significant growth in Australia.
AudioCodes is also looking to expand its partner base to tackle the enterprise market.
Papaioanou is hunting for one national distributor and 20 additional resellers with UC expertise, Microsoft certification and experience through traditional players such as NEC, Mittel and Nortel.
The company has relationships with Fujitsu and Adtech Global.
“It’s not a huge amount since we don’t want to over commoditise the product, but there is enough business in the marketplace to support another 15-20 more partners,” he said. “I’m working through another round of system integrators and will hopefully announce them soon.”
