Salesforce.com launches VAR program

Program aims to allow partners to deliver custom applications running on .Force quickly

Cloud vendor, Salesforce.com, has launched a cloud computing channel program with the aim of enabling resellers to develop customer applications in the cloud.

The program allows VARs to resell Force.com – allowing them to deliver custom applications in the cloud. The program includes a sales resource centre, technical training and a certification program, and support for the Force.com platform that the custom applications will sit on.

A local partner that has joined the program is Sqware Peg.

Managing director, Shawn Stilwell, said the greatest advantage of the program was that it allowed the reseller to take solutions directly to customers more quickly.

The reseller has formed Click to Cloud, a company designed solely to develop applications for the Force.com platform, and has gone to market with a solution tailored for recruitment already,

“The program allows us to develop applications to go to specific markets,” Stilwell said. “Eventually the recruitment solution will work into corporate HR resources, and we’re also developing a real estate solution in tandem. Down the track we’re looking at an automotive solution as well.”

Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
