Internode ramps up enterprise offerings in the eastern states

In a bid to woo enterprise customers in the eastern states, Internode has tripled its NSW datacentre capacity and is unleashing its symmetrical broadband service in Sydney and Melbourne.
Adelaide was the launching pad for Internode’s Extreme high-speed digital subscriber line (SHDSL) in March. The service facilitates equal upload and download speeds from 5Mbps to 40Mbps. The Sydney and Melbourne rollout is phase two of the network expansion and the last stage will be deployed in Brisbane and other regions within the next 12 months.
The ISP’s decision to ramp up its global switch datacentre in Ultimo and expand its symmetrical high-speed digital subscriber line (SHDSL) is part of the company’s strategy to bolster its business customer numbers in the region.
“In terms of our corporate clients in the east coast, we are coming off a really low customer base,” Internode national sales manager, Daryl Knight, said. “There is quite a large market and we needed to identify services that provide us with a point of difference from existing competitors that are there.”
According to Knight, Internode’s differentiator rests on its ability to control the end-to-end experience with its datacentre and SHDSL service. He also saw this upgrade as an opportunity for the company’s 200 solutions channel partners to leverage Internode’s capabilities.
“Our solutions partners, typically system integrators and infrastructure providers, typically have a relationship with customers more on the local access network (LAN) side and so we are extending the relationship to deliver services to the wide area network (WAN) and datacentre.”
The Sydney SHDSL exchanges are in Haymarket, Glebe, Pitt Street, North Ryde, City South and Kent Street. Melbourne exchanges are at Batman Rd, Lonsdale and Exhibition Streets.

Pathetic Broadband
I live in Kelsey Creek, Queensland which is 200kms south of Townsville & 100kms north of Mackay and we have to rely on Satellite broadband and have no access to any type of fast ADSL broadband. Is this country third-world or what? All these ISP's claim to have nationally available services and that is completely wrong. Why won't a company like Internode come to our area and fix this problem once and for all! Me and alot of other people would be very happy.
