State of the market
- Despite predictions of a slump following a bad night on Wall Street, the market held on remarkably well. After opening more than 30 points down, it steadied during the day. The ASX 200 finished just 6.8 points down at 4381.6.
- The Aussie dollar is buying $US0.8260. Gold is trading down at $US935.8 an ounce while oil is selling for $US66.8 a barrel.
