Navigon has released an Australian version of its iPhone navigation software to boost the company’s global footprint.
Available through the App Store for iPhone’s with the new Apple OS 3.0 operating system, Mobile Navigator includes the vendor’s hallmark navigation functions including Reality View Pro, Lane Assistant Pro and Day & Night mode.
In a statement, Navigon vice president, Gerhard Mayr, said this Australian release will expand its presence in the mobile phones navigation market. Features integrated with the iPhone, such as two-finger zooming and accelerometer-based rotation of the map onscreen, also provides a unique experience, he said.
Once the application is downloaded onto an iPhone, users will not have to pay subscription fees or download maps during navigation.
The Mobile Navigator sells for $99.99 dollars but will be offered at a promotional price of $69.99 until August 15. Software updates with additional features will be released later this year.
Nominations for the 2012 ARN IT Industry Awards open on Tuesday, June 12.
