ZettaServe wins its biggest Federal Government contract

ICT service provider, ZettaServe, has received its biggest Federal Government contract after securing a deal with the National Offshore Petroleum Safety Authority (NOPSA).

The Perth-based company was established in 2004, working predominantly in desktop management. In its five years of operation, ZettaServe has branched out to infrastructure services and is increasingly focused on growing the business in Sydney.

The five-year NOPSA agreement involves all ICT infrastructure services including service desk, field services, security and server and network management. While ZettaServe is not responsible for applications development, its duties will cover installing and maintaining applications. The base value of the deal is $1 million, with opportunities for project work that will bump up that figure.

Through a tender process which began 10 months ago, the service company ended up on the short-list and was eventually awarded the contract after putting forward several presentations. In a statement, NOPSA CIO, John Townsend, cited ZettaServe’s understanding of how to deal with small government organisations as a reason for choosing the company.

ZettaServe managing director, Nathan Harman, said while this was not the biggest deal for the company in terms of absolute size, the length and source of the contract was significant.

“We have worked on a lot of state contracts and they are usually shorter or project-based,” he said. “So the agreement was important since it was five years, from the Federal Government and of a moderate size.”

As of July 1, ZettaServe has completely implemented its services and plans to replicate the success of this contract.

“We would hope to compete for deals appropriate to our size,” Harman said. “We will be looking to bid for small- to medium-sized agencies using our success here.”
