Networking vendor, Blue Coat, has streamlined its distribution line-up, bringing in changes to its Australian and New Zealand strategy.
The tweak will see Westcon Group become the vendor’s sole representative in New Zealand with the Australian partnership terminated.
Distribution Central will no longer have access to the New Zealand geography as a result.
Express Data and Computerlinks will remain distributors for Blue Coat in Australia.
Blue Coat director of channels, A/NZ, Peter Owen, said the vendor’s fast rate of growth had meant parts of the business had not necessarily evolved in a controlled fashion.
“We’ve had a long association with all of these companies, so we had the necessary information to build this structure to work for everyone,” Owen said.
“We see this as a very positive move for our channel, and our partners have been very professional in working with us to get the structure in place.”
Education continues to be a core focus for Blue Coat, and the vendor is also placing emphasis on an end of life refresh program for some of its product offering.
Last month, the vendor announced that it was ramping up its channels business.
