Airservices Australia storage contract up for grabs

Government-owned company looking after air traffic control in need of a storage supplier

Airservices Australia has opened a tender seeking a supplier for storage devices.

The organisation is a government-owned corporation providing air traffic control management and related airside services to the aviation industry.

Tender documents state Airservices is looking for two storage area networks (SAN), two virtual tape libraries and two physical tape libraries. It is also seeking procurement advice.

The devices are expected to be deployed at the organisation’s Brisbane and Melbourne datacentres. It also has operations in Canberra.

The tender closes on Tuesday, August 18, The contract is set to start on September 30.

The news follows on from a swag of tender announcements in recent weeks including Centrelink’s decision to change its three-panel ICT procurement set-up to a two-panel arrangement. The Applications Services Panel (ASP) and Integrated Services Panel (ISP) will be merged into one new panel of 10-15 providers.
