Acer to provide Nero backup on PCs

Acer has expanded its OEM partnership with software vendor, Nero, across its desktop line of products.
By the end of 2009, Acer, Gateway, Packard Bell and eMachine brands will all come with a Nero software suite installed. Currently, all Packard Bell desktop and notebook computers are bundled with the Nero suite.
Nero 9 Essentials will be available to users out-of-the-box, with the option of upgrading to the full suite using a discount offer, as well as other Nero products such as Nero BackItUp & Burn, Nero MediaHome and Nero Move It. Nero 9 Essentials allows users to burn CDs and DVDs and access the easy-to-use Nero StartSmart 9 Essential interface for navigating through the product’s features. In a release, Acer Group vice-president of global strategic alliance, IT products, Jackson Lin claimed Nero 9 Essentials allowed users a quick and easy way to burn music or videos with ease out of the box.
