Manaccom to distribute MYOB

ASX-listed software distributor, Manaccom (ASX:MNL) has signed a distribution agreement with business management software vendor, MYOB.
Manaccom deputy chairman, Ian Mackay, said the deal would see the distributor take the MYOB offering to selected retailers.
“We are looking at the whole market with the exception of two or three of the majors,” he said. “Certainly geographically it will be right across the country.”
The addition of MYOB represents a step back into the business software space for Manaccom and further broadens the distributor’s software arm, which experienced twenty per cent growth in the first half of the 2008/09 financial year to help produce a 34 per cent increase in net profit after tax.
“Because our team is getting around the country all the time and literally calling on thousands of outlets we thought we would add MYOB to their list of offerings,” Mackay added.
He was not able to say whether there would be other vendors brought into the stable going forward or give any indication as to the company’s results for the full financial year.
“If we weren’t within fifteen per cent of last year’s results we would need to make an announcement,” he said. “That announcement hasn’t been made and quite frankly won’t be made.”
The deal comes two months after Manaccom signed a three-year distribution agreement with McAfee, dropping rival security software vendor, Trend Micro, in the process.
In January, MYOB was removed from the official list of ASX companies, following the issue of compulsory acquisition by Manhattan Software.
