DTG Digital and Alloys give channel custom clothes

Garment printer specialist joins Alloys ranks as it continues to expand on its core offering

Alloys has created a new branch in its portfolio bringing onboard garment printing outfit, DTG Digital.

Alloys CEO, Paul Harman, said that while the distributor didn’t expect the vendor to be a major business, there has been sizable interest from customers and resellers.

“We conducted a launch on July 1, which had 15 reseller partners attend, and we offered them the ability to purchase a trial unit. We are very happy with the response – we have already sold out of our initial stock,” Harman said.

As a niche product requiring specialisation it is not expected to generate a large reseller base, Harman added, but the DTG Digital portfolio will be presented as part of a solution offering within the distributor’s Print and Imaging division.

DTG Digital represents further diversification from the Alloys core business.

Harman said that while there was scope for growth in all areas of the Alloys business, the distributor did not want to bring on an overabundance of vendors, and was not expecting any further signings in the next few months.

This is the second specialist printer vendor Alloys has partnered with in a month, having formed a relationship with Mutoh in June. It has also become involved with managed print solutions through a partnership with PrintFleet.

The distributor has had a busy year with growth, moving to a new premises in Melbourne in January, and a revamp of its website in April.
