AVG posts solid revenue growth

58 per cent growth within reseller business for the financial year a positive sign of more growth to come

Security distributor, AVG (AU/NZ), has reported strong revenue growth for the 2008-09 financial year.

Managing director, Peter Cameron, said preliminary figures showed sales revenue growth of 63 per cent and 58 per cent turnover growth within its reseller base.

This follows on from good results announced by the company in January, and backs up its improved ranking of 15 in the 2009 BW Fast Starters List; in 2008 AVG (AU/NZ) was ranked at 48 on the list.

“We’ve invested a lot of time on our reseller portal, and implemented a renewal process for our resellers,” Cameron said. “Renewal seems to be a good touch point for security.”

Revenue growth has also led to an increase in head count, with the distributor now having 31 staff, up from 20 last year. It has also upped its reseller ranks by 35 per cent year on year.

Cameron said the growth was expected to continue, with security proving to be recession proof, and plans within the distributor to improve the skills of its sales staff, particularly around providing improved assistance for channel partners.
