Dimension Data is putting on the finishing touches to the implementation and testing of a disaster recovery project for engineering and project management group, Ausenco (ASX: AAX). The contract is worth about $2 million.
The integrator was charged with the design and deployment of storage, backup, virtualisation, archiving and data de-duplication technologies for disaster recovery. The applied products were sourced from multiple vendor partners including EMC, Cisco and VMware.
Through the rollout, Ausenco is now able to enhance network-based private cloud services which will reduce hosting cost and to make the most of existing IT assets. Dimension Data also gave the thumbs up to service group’s in-house network design.
According to a press statement, Dimension Data was given the contract based on its solution-focused approach and its adherence to Ausenco’s IT budget constraints. The integrator also provided Ausenco with a strategic direction for future IT expansion.
In the statement, Dimension Data datacentre solutions general manager, Ronnie Altit, said the project is an example of the company’s ability to work closely with clients to understand their requirements and deliver an effective solution.
