ATO wants staff to test SBR ICT infrastructure

New tender opened for the provision of personnel to test the Standard Business Reporting program ICT environment

The Australian Tax Office (ATO) is looking for system testers to prod and poke its ICT infrastructure in its multi-agency initiative aimed at simplifying business-to-government reporting, the Standard Business Reporting (SBR) program.

The ATO opened a tender inviting organisations to provide qualified personnel to work in Canberra in a team known as Enterprise Applications which will perform ICT services.

Consultants will need a Highly Protected security clearance and will provide services in conjunction with the development of ATO Web services, authentication or internet security framework teams.

Tender documents also state personnel will be required to transfer their skills to ATO employees through mentoring and a documentation process undertaken during the contract.

The tender closes on June 25 at 2pm with evaluation of the tender to be completed by July 15. Chosen personnel must start work on August 30.

The contract is for 12 months with a one-year extension option to be exercised at the ATO’s discretion.

The tender follows on from moves by the Federal Government to create a panel of datacentre providers to supply space and services to agencies during the development of the whole-of-government datacentre strategy instigated as part of the Gershon review.
